A theory has been floating around to explain why the Dems hid Biden' dementia for so long, only to suddenly throw it in the face of the public and an early debate. The Democrats intend to throw the 2024 election, to blame Trump for a financial crisis in 2025 and destroy the MAGA movement once and for all.
I read about it in the WSJ and elsewhere and wrote a Substack about it titled. “A Biden Conspiracy Theory You Haven’t Heard Yet. Maybe the Dems don't plan to steal the election in 2024. They plan to steal the presidency in 2025."

There do not appear to be any rules about former presidents running as VPs, and then becoming president after the current president resigns/dies.
