And don't think this isn't coming to the U.S. I reckon blue states will impose it first. In fact, CA already has digital drivers licenses as an option.
I know someone who used to live in Cali. He's now in a blue midwestern state. Mentioned he was terrified that he'd be required to get the so called "mark of the beast," aka some sort of digital tag. I said the easiest way to stave that off was to use cash.
His response? That would be too hard. All his banking is done online. He likes using credit cards. As for the digital tag, well, that probably won't happen now. And if it does, well, he's already retired. He's set in his ways. Can't change.
My guess is people will submit because of "convenience."
