Only Leftists and/or Weak-Minded People Actually Consume Corporate Media for 'News'
I roar with laughter when someone sends me a link to NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, BBC, NYT. Yes, all are like a broken clock that are right twice a day. Sometimes some of their content is legit.
I’ll let the stories speak for themselves.
Please note:
Mediaite leans left.
NewsNation is ‘centrist,’ but late to the corporate-media-lied-to-us game.
Newsmax is consumed by the right, but I am not a fan at all. Some of their positions are uninformed and ill-informed, plus — like Fox News — they mandated the Covid gene-juice injections.
Best Seller Lists are garbage, because the big publishing houses buy up huge quantities of books, to inflate purchase numbers. Who wants to tell CNN?
MSNBC’s New Prime Time Lineup Lands With a Thud Amid Ongoing Ratings Woes
Alex Griffing
May 28th, 2025, 5:46 pmMSNBC’s new prime time lineup, which debuted on May 5th, failed to connect with viewers in its first three weeks as the network saw its audience decline to near record lows – especially in the key 25-54 age demographic.
Overall for May, MSNBC dropped 41% in the primetime demo and 34% in the total day demo compared to May of 2024. In total viewers, the network was down 33% across total day and 24% in prime time. MSNBC’s total day demo viewership sank to 49,000 average viewers and 73,000 in prime time – its second worst ever showing for a month behindJanuary of 2025.
Fox News was the only of the big three networks to see year-over-year gains for May, up 21% in total viewers and 22% in total day demo viewers compared to 2024. In prime time, Fox gained 23% in total viewers and was up 32% in the demo.
CNN was down 24% in total day viewers and 27% in the daytime demo, while in prime time the network dropped 18% in total viewers and 21% in the demo. CNN’s prime time average came in at only 426,000 total viewers, compared to Fox News’s 2.5 million viewers and MSNBC’s average of 877,000 viewers.
MSNBC’s new lineup saw the 7 pm launch of The Weeknight and Jen Psaki replacing Alex Wagner Tuesday through Friday at 9 pm, while Rachel Maddow returned to hosting only on Mondays at 9 pm. Maddow returned to MSNBC five nights a week to cover the first 100 days of Trump’s second administration.
The Weeknight, Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez’s panel program, saw viewership during its time slot decline 13% compared to the average viewership for 2025 before its launch. The Weeknight’s average of 770,000 viewers was also 36% lower than the 1.2 million viewers that watched MSNBC at 7 pm during the same period last year.
Psaki’s numbers so far also registered a dip for her hour. Psaki’s show averaged 973,000 total viewers since launch, which is 46% less than the 1.82 million average viewers that have watched MSNBC at 9 pm so far this year to see Maddow – who is by far the biggest draw on cable news outside of Fox. Notably, however, Psaki’s number is also 20% down from Alex Wagner’s average during the same period in 2024 – when Maddow was also only hosting Mondays.
Maddow’s Monday program averaged 1.8 million total viewers since the new lineup launched, which is a 24% dip from the same period last year, during which she pulled in 2.4 million viewers.
CNN and MSNBC continue to feel a ratings drag as many on the left continue to avoid overly engaging with news media, and audiences in general embrace alternative sources of information like podcasts and YouTube. Notably, upstart cable news station NewsNation also saw gains year over year in May, with total day viewers up 21% and the total day demo rising 50%. Newsmax also saw its total day demo surge 60%, but dipped 2% in total daily average viewership.
Fresh embarrassment for struggling MSNBC as new line up leads to disastrous ratings drop

Viewers are fleeing MSNBC just weeks after the liberal network debuted a new primetime lineup in a bid to salvage tumbling viewership.
So far this month, MSNBC dropped 41 percent in the primetime demographic and 34 percent in the total day demo compared to May 2024, leaked ratings figures show.
It's a stinging blow for Jen Psaki who on May 5 took over for Rachel Maddow during the 9pm timeslot from Tuesday to Friday.
Maddow, who's been the top host on the network for years, previously said she had faith that Joe Biden's former press secretary would do even better than her in the role.
Maddow temporarily returned as the five-night-a-week primetime host to cover President Donald Trump's first 100 days in office, but has since retreated to anchoring only on Mondays.
The latest ratings for 'The Briefing with Jen Psaki' came on May 22, when it failed to crack the coveted 1 million viewer mark. Sean Hannity's show on Fox News, which also airs at 9pm, had 2.3 million total viewers that night.
Psaki's show also performed dismally with the 25-54 key age demographic, only pulling in 55,000 viewers in that category. By comparison, Hannity had 210,000 viewers in the key demo.
On May 5, MSNBC premiered The Weeknight, a panel show featuring Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez.
Fox News Goes After Brutal Jake Tapper Ratings Plunge Amid Book Tour
May 30th, 2025, 11:16 am
Fox News went after CNN anchor and author Jake Tapper over a ratings decline that they connected to a book tour they say has resulted in a decade-low audience.
CNN and Tapper have been engaged in an all-out publicity blitz for Tapper’s book he co-authored with Alex Thompson, Original Sin, which has prompted attacks from critics of the authors, the book, and the network. Tapper and Thompson have also ventured into hostile territory during their book tour — but Tapper has not been welcome on Fox News cable programs. A
lex Thompson did appear on Fox News Sunday, which is aired first on Fox Broadcasting, and is later re-broadcast on Fox News several hours later.
That hasn’t stopped Fox personalities from assailing Tapper, and Fox News Digital’s Brian Flood just dropped a ratings report blaming the book for decreased ratings, writing, “The book has also been promoted relentlessly across CNN, but the spotlight on Tapper has seemingly failed to give him a boost in viewership”:
“The Lead with Jake Tapper” averaged 525,000 total viewers from April 28 through May 25, shedding 25% of CNN’s audience in its timeslot from the same period last year in the process.
By comparison, Fox News offerings “The Five” and “Special Report with Bret Baier” averaged 3.3 million viewers from April 28 through May 25, trouncing Tapper.
MSNBC also beat Tapper among total viewers, as programming on the progressive network averaged a little over one million viewers in the timeslot. As a result, Tapper settled for only 11% of the cable news audience share, while MSNBC managed 21% and Fox News commanded 68% during the timeframe.
It was Tapper’s lowest-rated month since August 2015.
A CNN spokesperson told Mediaite that the Nielsen ratings don’t tell the whole story:
The award-winning program The Lead with Jake Tapper reaches broad global audiences across CNN, CNN International and Max’s streaming platform. No single metric can capture the true reach and impact of a program driving the national conversation.
Flood’s report coincides with Tapper’s Original Sin debut on the New York Times Hardcover Nonfiction Be3stseller List — at number one.
Nice try, CNN.
So the stage is wide open for a news channel with honesty & integrity otherwise known as true journalism. I might be asking too much.
