You can't have it both ways, LA County Public Health
Los Angeles must be punished. I hate to say it. Voters need to feel pain.
Here is the math showing why.
Addend: According to LA’s Public Health Officer, non-medical doctor Barbara Ferrer, Ph.D., this virus is going bonkers (that’s not a quote) and people need to go back to following the Draconian measures foisted upon us during Covid Chapter One. Only this time, the flimsy-ass (again, not a quote) face covering that they swore were the shit (ditto) aren’t good enough. You gotta go full-on bird beak or you might die. Which you won’t…
Addend: Sonoma County, CA, which is one-fourth (approx.) as dense as LA is now under ‘shelter in place’ orders. They’re idiots.
Addend: LA County has made staying open so onerous for small businesses, even more are throwing in the towel. Employees at restaurants and bars are now in the position of Gestapo-like bouncers, checking health-passes. This is a surefire way to guarantee that boosted sickos share their pathogens. Big companies are peacing-the-f*ck-out too, by the way.
Addend: The loony leaders are so fixated on the vaccine — which has worked wonders (I mean just look around) — that they’ve fired frontline workers who don’t want the shot, and have had to hire sick people who are in compliance. So we’re short-staffed on EMTs, fire fighters, cops, testing site staff (Gavin Newsom deployed the National Guard to administer them to the swab-addicted junkies), and lab technicians.
Addend: They scream about ‘case numbers’— a meaningless metric. California’s and LA County’s are soaring. *yawn* I’m guessing Ferrer is conflicted about whether to count cases or SHEEP when she goes to sleep at night.
SUM: #MoveTheSuperBowl to Texas. Los Angeles is not worthy. And clearly (!) Los Angeles is not safe.
FALLOUT: There will be short-term damage to small businesses and others will be hurt by this; but the blood will be on the hands of the public health officials and politicians —- not the big-mouth blabbers like me, who are ranting about the hypocrisy and real longterm damages to our economy and collective mental health.

Be sure to mention how lousy the telecast will be, given our ‘fake’ doctor’s mandates: shooting the skybox, where the rich ‘n famous dine and drink without a mask or a care will look really crummy in contrast to the masked masses donning N95s; challenge their science when it comes to the timing of the measures, the numbers, and the pass they’re giving to the NFL (get it?); dare them to shutdown/lockdown the county or state afterwards, because it’s not SAFE to keep us open; call them out on their double-standard for pimping panic porn, while simultaneously gaslighting us about protocols that will ensure the sparkling new SoFi Stadium doesn’t turn into a super-spreader venue. While you’re at it, why not shame your local news station or paper for being nothing other than propaganda arms of the government.
They can’t have it both ways: either the latest mutation (and the cascade to come) are making life unsafe or it’s time to “fully reopen the state of California,” as my good friend, KABC Radio talk show host and political scientist extraordinaire @JohnnyDontLike says at the start of every broadcast of The John Phillips show.
